Uninstall and reinstall

The Anywhere access certificate expired in April 2025.  No matter what I do to renew IIS seems to be corrupted.  Trying to register domain name again or any other name I receive an unknown error has occurred Please wait a few minutes and try again.  Should I just uninstall the IIS role and delete\rename the root folder and reinstall or just completely delete WSEE and reinstall.  It is currently installed on Server 2022 with a domain role. I have a copy of Server 2025 to install on another machine and try to reinstall WSEE there.  I just tried the WSEE Zapper and it failed as it was not orphaned.  If I try to change the WSEE Experience from Control panel I see the attached window that seems to be cut off:

Unfortunately, the Anywhere Access/Remote Web Access functionality in Windows Server Essentials is no longer working. Therefore, uninstalling and reinstalling WSEE won’t help you at all. Until such time as Microsoft resolves the issue (I wouldn’t hold my breath though) you will need to move away from using a remotewebaccess.com Microsoft personal domain name and manually set up your own custom/vanity domain name instead. I have a tutorial that walks you though doing that (using either a user-purchased SSL certificate or using a free Let’s Encrypt SSL certificate via Certify the web) posted over here:

How To Manually Set Up A Custom / Vanity Domain Name In Windows Server Essentials

BTW, Microsoft has made dozens of attempts to fix their remotewebaccess.com domain name feature over the last year or so, but each time they get it working, they just bust it again a week or two later. It’s all so very frustrating! IMHO, you’re MUCH better off just moving away from relying on Microsoft’s services and setting up your own custom/vanity domain name instead.
