Hi Mike,

I just installed “10.0.14393.4169-27” and all went well.
But there was a popup shown with the notice that there was 1 error during installation.
When i clicked the Show Error button, it only showed me the starting page of the Event Viewer.

So where should this lead me to?
I couldn’t find any poining to a Error or anything?
I’m curious what error there was during the Update installation.

You can open up the Event Viewer applet on your server and go to:

Windows Logs -> Application

In there you should see the error listed under the “EssentialsRoleSetupUpdater” event source.

Feel free to post back here with the specific error if you need further clarification on it.

Hi Mike, here’s the copy/paste of the error.
From what i read, i have done the update just as user, not via right-click “Run as Admin” option. so should it be run again as ‘right-click Admin’ or only the command as shown below?

    Odd as I haven’t seen that one before. Looks like there was a simple timeout error when the updater was attempting to take ownership of that particular Essentials file. I doubt that will cause you any issues (seeing as the file already exists), but if you want to try running the updater again you certainly can do that. When you run it again the updater will inform you that the latest updated is already installed. You can just check the checkbox stating that you’d like to reinstall the update anyway. There’s no need to do the whole right-click run as admin process seeing as it’ll automatically prompt you for admin permissions if it’s needed. BTW, you might also want to do a reboot of your server before running the updater again as a just-in-case.

    Hi Mike, i have just done the opted steps, and we can be sure it was a simple time-out error, as the next event entries were just infomational, i have rebooted the server, and ‘re-run’ the software as normal, and have the notice that all is well now. Thnx for the help.
