WSEE on Server 2025 - Computer Monitoring Error

0

Hi there,

Updated my Server from 2022 to 2025. The in-place upgrade was pretty uneventful and almost everything is working well – but one odd issue.

In the WSE Dashboard I have a warning: “Computer Monitoring Error” on the server. Details say: “Cannot access the health of this computer because PowerShell is not available”. Resolution: “Install the latest version of Windows PowerShell available from the Microsoft website”.

Is there a known fix to this issue? I’m assuming it’s not to really install PowerShell as the Server already has it..,?

I’m on the latest version of WS 2025 with all of the current updates.

Thanks in advance for the help!

This issue should be resolved in the latest release of the WSEE Installer, but it’s possible that the resolution isn’t working during an in-place upgrade. I’ll need to take a look at that.

In the mean time, you should be able to resolve the issue by running the WSEE Updater on your 2025 Essentials server. You can download the latest release of the WSEE Updater from here.

If the WSEE Updater happens to inform you that the latest update is already installed on your server, then simply check the checkbox stating that you would like to reinstall the update anyway.

After running the WSEE Updater, open the server Dashboard, go to HOME -> Health Monitoring, delete the existing “Computer monitoring error” health alert, and then click on the “Refresh” task and make sure that it doesn’t return after the refresh.

Thanks Mike, running the updater with “install anyway” did the trick. Thanks!
