client backup is slowwwwww
new install of 2022 standard w/WSEE
moved my storage pool (4 – 16TB disks – parity) from 2016 to 2022 – upgraded to latest version, moved all server folders to it
client backups never finish or take days – i can copy a large file from my desktop to a folder on the storage pool & the xfer speed seems fine – i realize that parity is slower, but never had issues with 2016
the backup seems to start & then stalls – i don’t see any activity

I’m not exactly sure on that one as I’m not seeing any issues with client backups (speed or otherwise) happening over here on any of our in house Essentials servers that are running on 2019, 2022, or 2025. I would imagine that it has more to do with your existing storage pool (or possibly the backup catalog itself), brought over from 2016, than it does with an issue resulting from running WSEE on a non-2016 based server.
Have you tried running the backup repair tool from the server Dashboard to see if it happens to find any issues with your backup set (i.e., open the Dashboard, go to the “DEVCICES” page, click on the “Client computer backup tasks” task, click on the “Tools” tab, and click the “Repair now” button)?
If that doesn’t do anything for you, then you might need to delete your existing backup catalog (or completely redo your storage pool) and start over from scratch again. See this post for more info on how to delete the backup catalog.

i didn’t bring any catalog over from 2016 – started new on 2022
did have an issue where my server backups to a 4TB drive that i had labelled BAD and didn’t notice – had to delete the catalog & start new again
i am running the repair tool now

- repair finished – no issues found
- Alas, I’m afraid I don’t know then as things seem to be working normally for me over here (and to date, no one else has reported a similar issue that I am ware of). About all I can suggest is dropping the storage pool (as a test) and see how the backup speed is when using just one of the large drives directly (i.e., without the storage pool).

i added my 10TB & 5TB disks – WSEE failed to start again
wbadmin delete catalog fixed it again
i am moving the Client Computer Backups folder, but i am asking my self why
can i just delete everything in it & start the client backups again
maybe something left over from last catalog delete??
