I just recently came across your site and happy i did so. I was going to change over to V2 of WHS. Like you stated they really dropped the ball. So I'm sticking to V1. We have a DIY home server that's consume way to much wattage that we purchased a HP Microserver to run WHS V1 from that as well as my wife's jewelry business. I can't wait to try out your add on too.

Hi Ken,

WHS Quicken has actually been out in the wild for nearly a year and a half now. The WHS Money add-in is the only WHS v1 add-in that I just recently released. As for the roadblocks preventing there from being a version for use with WHS 2011... There really aren't any other than the plain and simple fact that I see no advantage whatsoever in moving up to the latest version of WHS 2011. Microsoft just kind of lost focus and gave up on WHS 2011 in my eyes, and as such, I have no real desire to move to WHS 2011 in the foreseeable future. Since my main drive behind building WHS add-ins is for my (and my family’s) own personal use, I most likely won’t be updating any of my WHS v1 add-ins for a newer platform until such time as I find the need to move up to a newer version of WHS. I will however continue to support and enhance all of my add-ins for the WHS v1 platform, as well as release new add-ins for the WHS v1 platform as well.

I'm sorry that I don't have a better answer for you on this one.

Could you let us know what roadblocks might be preventing you from creating on WHS 2011? This would help us know if we should wait in anticipation or look for other solutions. Seems kind of strange that v1 would be released just as 2011 comes out. I'm sure many people will be looking forward to a new release.

Hi Al,

At this point in time, I have no plans on releasing any of my Windows Home Server v1 add-ins for use under the WHS 2011 platform. I will however continue to support all of my existing add-ins under the WHS v1 platform, as well as release new ones for the v1 platform ("WHS Office" is coming up next).

I'm sorry that I don't have a better answer for you on this one, but I do thank you for your interest in my software.
