Junk-Out™ All Versions A.1.1 : Tuning of the filter delay (All Versions)

The program now only pauses for 12 seconds (or 15 seconds in Corporate or Workgroup mode) when initially processing any new mail, and then defaults to pausing for only 4 seconds (or 5 seconds in Corporate or Workgroup mode) on any subsequent filtering of newly arrived e-mail.

Junk-Out™ Pro version Icon Professional Version:

Using the Professional Version, you can also adjust the delay to between 1 and 120 seconds using Options | Settings | Filtering. Note that the initial mail filtering wait time is automatically set to THREE times the subsequent mail filtering wait time value.

Junk-Out™ All Versions A.1.2 : Filter delay animation (All Versions)

The Junk-Out™ icon in the system tray icon now displays an animated clock while the program is actively waiting for additional new e-mail to arrive.

NOTE:
While this icon is displayed in the system tray, DO NOT interact with any newly arrived messages as this may interfere with the processing of the messages by the program.

TOP

Junk-Out™ All Versions A.1.3 : Program "Repair" capability (All Versions)

A "Program Maintenance" wizard panel has been added to the program's uninstaller to allow selection of either complete removal of the program or a re run of the setup program to repair any installation errors by fixing missing or corrupt files, shortcuts, and registry entries.

Junk-Out™ All Versions A.1.4 : 'No Load' capability (All Versions)

Holding down the SHIFT key on keyboard when first starting Outlook now causes the program NOT to load itself for the current Outlook session.

TOP

Junk-Out™ All Versions A.1.5 : Frequent Correspondents pre-load (All Versions)

The Getting Started Setup Wizard now scans the Sent Items folder during the program's initial setup and automatically adds the e-mail addresses for up to 1,000 of the most recently sent items into the Friends | Frequent Correspondents list (applies to new installations only).

Junk-Out™ All Versions A.1.6 : 'Contacts' Distribution Lists support (All Versions)

Friends | Contacts/Address Book now works with Distribution Lists found within Outlook's 'Contacts' folders.

TOP

Junk-Out™ All Versions A.1.7 : Improved tamper resistance (All Versions)

All relevant EXE and DLL files in the program have now been digitally signed and time stamped.

Junk-Out™ All Versions A.1.8 : Performance enhancements (All Versions)
  • faster processing of the automatic deletion of expired junk mail messages on exiting Outlook
  • faster processing of the automatic marking of junked items as read on exiting Outlook
  • non-Bayesian filters are inactive by default

TOP

Junk-Out™ All Versions A.2.1 : Outlook's Reply and Forward icons no longer affected (All Versions)

In the previous Release, some Junk-Out™ users experienced loss of Outlook's Reply and Forward status icons in the Explorer window. These are now unaffected by the program.

Junk-Out™ All Versions A.2.2 : 'Contacts' sub-folders supported in Internet Mail Only mode (All Versions)

In previous Releases, Junk-Out™ supported sub-folders of Outlook's Contacts in Outlook XP/2002, and in Outlook 2000 Corporate and Workgroup modes, but not in Outlook 2000 Internet Mail Only mode. This has been corrected.

TOP

Junk-Out™ All Versions A.2.3 : Loads even if Outlook Shortcuts missing from Outlook's NavBar (All Versions)

In the previous Release, Junk-Out™ would not load if the default Outlook Shortcuts group was not present in Outlook's Navigation Bar. This has been corrected.

Junk-Out™ Pro version Icon B.1.1 : Whitelist feature (Pro Version ONLY)
  • A whitelist feature has been integrated into the existing Subject and Body/Message Text filters. A filter's action can now be set to Accept-It. Any filtered message containing text in the subject or body that matches a Subject or Body/Message Text filter whose action is set to Accept-It is automatically accepted by the program and no further processing of the message take places (i.e. it is not passed through any of the other filters such as the Bayesian/Content-Based filter).

  • To make it easy to create whitelist Subject and/or Body/Message Text filter(s), a Create as a 'whitelist' filter checkbox has been added to the Subject and Message Text sections of the Create Junk Mail Filter tool. When this is checked, the tool automatically creates a whitelist Subject or Body/Message Text filter (i.e. filter whose action is set to Accept-It) instead of a "blacklist" filter (whose action is set to Junk-It, Mark-It (as possible junk), or Junk-It (after bouncing it)).

  • To enable filtering of the display to show either whitelist or blacklist filters only, the "User" and "Standard" buttons in Options | Filters have been replaced with "Blacklist" and "Whitelist" buttons. The new buttons are enabled on the Sender and Body tabs only.

TOP

Junk-Out™ Pro version Icon B.1.2 : Extended "Show Message Details" tool (Pro Version ONLY)

This tool has been completely rewritten to provide additional features:

  • per-word junk mail probability analysis
  • classification explanation (including whitelist)
  • 'save message' capability in text, HTML, Outlook Message and Outlook Template formats
  • message identification information (sender, subject, date & time, format)

Junk-Out™ Pro version Icon B.1.3 : Extended Bounce Message capabilities (Pro Version ONLY)

Using Options | Settings | Bounce Message, you can now:

  • Change the Name and Address from which the Bounce Message appears to be sent
  • Send the Bounce Messages to any user-defined e-mail address
  • Include the original message as an attachment to the Bounce Message in one of 3 ways:
    1. in plain text (TXT) format, where only the encoded text of the original message is attached
    2. in message (MSG) format, where an exact replica of the entire message is attached (including Internet Headers, Source Code, MAPI Properties, etc.)
    3. in plain text (TXT) format, where the original message's Internet Headers and decoded source text is attached

TOP

Junk-Out™ Pro version Icon B.1.4 : Extra filter statistics (Pro Version ONLY)

The misidentification statistics section of the Bayesian/Content-Based Filter Statistics dialog box has been extended.

Junk-Out™ Pro version Icon B.1.5 : Added configuration options (Pro Version ONLY)

A new House Keeping tab has been added under Options | Settings to allow you to control:

  • compression frequency for the Junk Mail (Bayesian / Content-Based Filter) database
  • repair frequency for the Junk Mail database
  • back-up frequency for the Junk Mail database
  • automatic cleaning frequency of unused words from the Junk Mail database
  • display / hide of the status dialog that displays during the Junk Mail database compression at Outlook start-up

TOP

Junk-Out™ Pro version Icon B.1.6 : Performance enhancement (Pro Version ONLY)

In order to speed up the processing/filtering of messages, the Sender, Subject, Header, Country, and Other filter types have been disabled by default.

NOTE: If you are currently using one or more of these filter types, you may need to re-enable/re-activate the filter types by checking the appropriate checkbox located in the "Active Filter Types" list under Options | Settings | Filtering

Junk-Out™ Pro version Icon B.2.1 : False positive and false negative percentage corrections (Pro Version ONLY)

False positive and false negative percentages are now correct in the Bayesian / Content-Based Filter's Filter Statistics dialog box

TOP

Junk-Out™ Pro version Icon B.2.2 : 'Filter Multiple Inboxes/Folders' working with secondary message stores (Pro Version ONLY)

The Filter Multiple Inboxes/Folders feature now works correctly when using folders located outside Outlook's default store.

NOTE: As a result of this fix, any "Multiple Inboxes/folders" entries created with prior releases of the program are deleted when this release of Junk-Out is installed. You must recreate your entries via Options | Settings Filter Multiple Inboxes/Folders using the new release.
