Please uninstall any existing WHS Outlook version prior to installation.

  1. Make sure that Microsoft Outlook is properly installed and setup on your Windows Home Server with at least one functioning e-mail account (Microsoft Exchange, POP3, IMAP, or HTTP).

See: My Windows Home Server is headless (i.e. it doesn't have an attached monitor, keyboard, and mouse) and/or it doesn't contain a CD/DVD drive so how do I install Microsoft Outlook/Office onto it?

  2. Place WHS Outlook's Windows Home Server installation file (i.e. WHSOutlook.msi) into your Windows Home Server's shared Add-ins folder (e.g. \\[SERVERNAME]\Software\Add-Ins).

  3. Open the Windows Home Server Console by double-clicking the appropriate shortcut on your Windows Home Server desktop or the Windows Home Server Console connector on your client PC.

  4. Click the Settings link in order to open the Windows Home Server's Settings Console.

  5. Go to the Add-ins panel of the Windows Home Server's Settings Console and then click on the Available tab. You will see the WHS Outlook add-in listed as an available add-in.

  6. Click the Install button to install the WHS Outlook add-in. After the installation is complete, the Windows Home Server Console will be closed automatically.

  7. The next time you start the Windows Home Server Console, you will see a new Console icon for WHS Outlook (you may need to scroll the Console icons in order to locate the icon). Click this icon to begin using WHS Outlook.
